It explores a natural fault in the human fabric which had always been the strength of Ito’s stories imo.įor reference here are my favorites: Black Bird, Long Dream, No Longer Human, Uzumaki, Amigara Fault, Glyceride, and Smashed. It felt very shallow to me, whereas Lovesickness has layers. I read Remina last night and I would probably place that one at the bottom of my list. I’m admittedly an Ito newbie-this is my final English translation book that i needed to cross off the list. I feel like a lot of people are just looking for the next crazy body horror story.which I do understand. I’m actually pretty surprised at the lukewarm reception of this book. The panel of the pretty boy walking into frame for the first time is one of my favorite Ito drawings of all time.no doubt.

I think the lovesickness arc was so well developed and paced perfectly. "Love Ghost" on Junji Ito Wiki "Lovesickness" on Junji Ito Wiki
